Chris Rowlinson is an expert in digital marketing, innovation, and education, and the founder of the learning platform 42courses, an official partner of Cannes Lions. He created the first brand in history that grew exclusively through social media marketing — the South African winery Stormhoek.
Chris served as Head of Innovation at Ogilvy & Mather Africa, where he founded the Digital Marketing Academy, and later oversaw WPP’s global innovation program Stream. His expertise has been recognized by invitations to jury panels of prestigious awards, including the Webby Awards.
42courses, the platform he founded, offers practical online courses in collaboration with Cannes Lions and leading industry experts. Chris is also active as a speaker, startup mentor through Google and Techstars, and consultant on storytelling, consumer behavior, and creative thinking.
His career began unconventionally — by creating “smart homes” in London and obtaining a commercial pilot’s license in South Africa. His journey is a vivid example of how creativity, technology, and education can transform industries and shape new approaches to learning and communication.
