KERBEZ is a high-premium vodka designed for both the modern Kazakhstani and international markets. Its essence blends heritage and modernity, drawing inspiration from the argali, a national symbol, and incorporating cultural motifs such as the shanyrak on the cap. The tactile lid resembles the feel of a premium car's drive switch, while the bottle's finish reflects luxury automotive materials, merging tradition with innovation in a striking, contemporary design.

Developed for TOO Almawine, KERBEZ was created to enter the competitive premium vodka category, where success hinges not just on taste but on a complete experience. In a saturated vodka market dominated by established international brands, the challenge was to build a brand that surprises and impresses at every touchpoint—from naming to glass bottle design, from lid to label—delivering more than just a drink, but a premium feeling. TOO Almawine is a leading importer, distributor, and retailer of premium alcoholic beverages in Kazakhstan. Emerging from a humble start—selling a single container of beer in a local market—it has grown impressively and now operates with over 2,000 employees, a 400-strong commercial team, and 19 dedicated marketing specialists with sommeliers among them. The primary goal was to create a vodka that evokes a sensory and emotional response from the very first interaction. Every detail had to feel exceptional, aligning with the brand’s name, combining natural inspiration with technological precision.

The creative idea behind KERBEZ was to embody duality: raw nature and refined technology, heritage and modernity. The brand name itself translates as “exceptional”, setting the ambition to design every element as a singular detail of distinction. We turned to national symbols as the foundation. The argali, a wild mountain sheep revered in Kazakhstan, became a key inspiration for form and texture. Its horn’s raw, tactile surface inspired the unique feel of the packaging — grounding the product in authenticity, strength, and the untamed character of the local landscape. At the same time, we contrasted this natural motif with cues of exclusivity from the world of premium cars. The rotary gear switch of Jaguar and Range Rover inspired the lid’s texture, bringing a sense of modern engineering and status into the design. Holding the bottle, the consumer experiences a tactile dialogue between wilderness and precision, between tradition and luxury. The shanyrak placed on the cap adds another cultural layer, a symbolic reminder of heritage and home. Combined with automotive-inspired finishes in the glass and shades, the bottle becomes more than packaging — it’s a crafted object of desire. KERBEZ thus merges Kazakhstan’s natural power with international standards of luxury, creating a vodka that is instantly recognizable, emotionally resonant, and truly exceptional. Two SKUs were developed and a special premium edition accompanied by a gift box, supported by key visuals that highlight both the product and the natural beauty of Kazakhstan—its mountains, steppe, air, water, stone, and fire. The design system was crafted to ensure that every touchpoint reinforces KERBEZ’s exceptional status and authenticity.
