Chiilz is a carbonated soft drink (CSD) brand known for its playful, imaginative approach to seasonal limited-edition flavors. Each new release is an opportunity to surprise consumers with bold taste experiences and striking visual storytelling. For the spring–summer season, Chiilz introduced a Mystery Edition — a secret new flavor that couldn’t be named or visually revealed on the packaging. This created a unique creative challenge: how to design a product that hides its taste yet becomes unmissable on the shelf.

The CSD market is highly competitive, dominated by brands that often rely on predictable flavor cues and straightforward packaging. Seasonal releases usually focus on flavor visibility and instant recognition. Chiilz wanted to break this mold. Instead of simply launching a new flavor, the brand set out to turn it into a game, a story, and a cultural event. The challenge: • Conceal the flavor while making the can design bold and intriguing. • Build a campaign that would engage consumers beyond the shelf and into the digital space. • Introduce fresh characters that could expand Chiilz’s brand universe and create a deeper emotional connection. Chiilz speaks to digital natives — a generation that grew up online, seamlessly blending real life with digital life. They are playful, curious, and deeply immersed in internet culture, gaming, and memes. For this audience, a drink is more than a product — it’s a story to be discovered, a puzzle to solve, and an experience to share on social media. The campaign needed to speak their language, full of pop culture references and interactive fun. The main objectives were to: • Create a limited-edition can design that hides the flavor yet feels vibrant and engaging. • Develop a storyline that transforms a seasonal product into a full-scale adventure. • Generate buzz and interaction on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. • Strengthen Chiilz’s position as a creative and playful brand that goes beyond simple product launches.

The creative breakthrough was to frame the launch as a Mission Possible. The storyline: A new Chiilz flavor is stolen from the lab before anyone can taste it. Two secret agents — the purple cats Purple and Pinks — are on a mission to recover it. Their nemesis? The sly villain SUS the skunk, a nod to classic Hollywood bad guys and gaming “impostor” characters. This turned the Mystery Edition into a narrative-driven experience, with each element of the design and campaign becoming part of an unfolding investigation. For the can design, we stayed true to the Chiilz style but evolved it to match the mystery theme: • Replacing the familiar conveyor belts and clouds with a cosmic, abstract space filled with floating 3D question marks. • Featuring the cat agents riding these question marks, wearing signature waffle-cone hats. • Balancing the white top with a deep purple body and vibrant yellow accents, making the design both striking and playful. The story didn’t stop at packaging. • OOH advertising brought the cats to the streets, turning the city into part of the investigation. • An animated film showcased the chase, building suspense and excitement. • TikTok and Instagram activations allowed followers to guess the flavor, debate theories, and interact with the characters in real time. What began as a product launch became an immersive, multi-channel experience that blurred the lines between storytelling and marketing.

The Chiilz Mystery Edition was more than a seasonal flavor — it became a cultural moment for the brand. Engagement on social media grew significantly as fans debated and guessed the flavor. The brand introduced new, temporary characters that connected with consumers and enriched the Chiilz universe. The limited-edition design stood out on shelves and drove curiosity-driven purchases. By turning a simple product release into a narrative adventure, Chiilz achieved strong visibility and deeper audience involvement.
